How to dress modern southern.?

Ok, so im heading down to my friends for the summer and she lives in Georgia. I don't want to be the outcast wearing forever 21 and other things like that. Does anyone know what modern southern girls wear? I mean my friend from Tennessee said that they wear crocks and large tee-shirts. Is that true? Can anyone help?
